Bacon Cheeseburger at The Jackalope – July 22, 2026

I met up with a high school friend for lunch and we landed on The Jackalope in Kennewick, which has become one of our go-to spots when we’re catching up. It was the middle of the day and the place had a good lunch crowd going, which is always a solid sign for a spot you keep coming back to. We grabbed a table, ordered, and got right into catching up on what’s new since the last time we saw each other.

What I Ordered

  • Main: Bacon Cheeseburger
  • Side: Side salad with blue cheese dressing

The Experience

The service here is always good, and this visit was no different. Even with a full room, we never felt rushed or ignored, which is the balance you want when you’re trying to actually catch up with someone over lunch instead of just wolfing down food and leaving. Our drinks and food both came out at a reasonable pace, and nobody had to flag anyone down to get a refill.

What Stood Out

  • Bacon Cheeseburger: The flavors here are always on point, and this burger backed that up again. Good char on the patty, the bacon had a real snap to it, and the cheese was melted just right so it held everything together instead of sliding off the second you picked it up. It’s the kind of burger you can order without thinking twice, because it’s never let me down.
  • Side salad with blue cheese: A good call if you want something to balance out the burger. The blue cheese dressing wasn’t shy about its flavor, which is exactly what you want from a blue cheese dressing, and the greens underneath were fresh instead of wilted, which isn’t always a given with a side salad.

This is also the kind of place that’s good for a catch-up lunch specifically, because it’s got that comfortable, casual feel where you can sit for a while without feeling rushed out the door. Nobody’s trying to turn the table over the second the plates are cleared, and that matters when the point of the meal is really the conversation.

Would I get it again? I would for sure. The Jackalope keeps delivering the same solid, reliable lunch every time I go, and that kind of consistency is worth a lot, especially for a spot in the regular rotation. If you’re in Kennewick and want a burger that hits without any surprises, along with a crowd that tells you the place is doing something right, this is a good bet.
