Bahn Mi and Garlic Chicken at Amon Eatz in Richland – March 7, 2026
We were hunting for someplace new for date night and landed at Amon Eatz in Richland on March 7, 2026. It’s tucked very close to Howard Amon Park, which made the walk over after dinner an easy plan. I like trying local spots, and this one had that approachable, neighborhood feel that makes for a low-pressure evening out.
What I Ordered
- Main: Bahn Mi
- Main: Garlic Chicken
- Side: Spring rolls
The Experience
The ambiance was nice — a little brightly lit, everything felt fresh and clean. The layout is simple and comfortable, which worked well for a casual date night. The service was great; staff were friendly and moved quickly, so we didn’t spend time waiting around.
What Stood Out
Flavor is where Amon Eatz shines. The Bahn Mi delivered the balance I was hoping for: the pickled vegetables brought brightness, the herbs added freshness, and the meat had a savory edge that combined with the bread in just the right way. It had presence without being overbearing, and the textures worked together nicely.
The Garlic Chicken had a bold garlic kick and a good amount of caramelization on the edges. It wasn’t heavy, and the garlic flavor came through cleanly. The spring rolls were crisp and light — a solid starter that set the tone for the mains.
Pro Tips
- Go early for a quieter table; the place is comfortable and fills up later in the evening.
- If you like brightness on your sandwich, ask for a little extra pickled veg.
Would I Get It Again?
Yes. I’ll be back to try as much of this menu as possible. The flavors were the highlight, especially the Bahn Mi, and it definitely hit the spot for a relaxed date night. If you’re near Howard Amon Park and looking for something fresh and flavorful, Amon Eatz is worth a visit.
