Ice Harbor at the Marina: A Simple Breakfast – February 16 2014

I love a good breakfast. When I’m trying a new place for breakfast I typically aim for their Eggs Benedict. However, since Ice Harbor at the Marina doesn’t have Eggs Bene on the menu, I steered for something else. Today’s meal was their Croissant French Toast and their Biscuits and Gravy. Here are my thoughts.

Croissant French Toast
I’m super critical of any place that has Croissant French Toast on their menu. I even made it clear to the bartender when I ordered them. I told her there was no pressure because these were going to be compared to my Mom’s croissant French Toast because she made the absolute best on the planet. No pressure, right?

With that being said, I really enjoyed the French Toast. Could I tell they were made from croissants, not necessarily, but they were delicious. I wolfed them down pretty quickly. If I hadn’t enjoyed them, they wouldn’t have disappeared so fast. What really stood out was their homemade maple syrup.

Biscuits & Gravy
I was pleasantly surprised by the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are made in-house as well as the gravy. The biscuits were light and fluffy and the gravy was also light with a hint of sage. It was the hint of sage that really, really made these stand out.

I would also like to point out they have an extensive list of Bloody Marys on their menu. Based on their descriptions, I would be willing to say they are delicious. One of these days, I’ll give them a shot.

So long story short, if you’re looking for somewhere new to try for breakfast in the Tri-Cities, I highly recommend Ice Harbor at the Marina. They are doing something really good there.
