Steak and Meatloaf at Budd’s Broiler – March 20, 2026

Friday night called for a simple dinner out, so I headed to Budd’s Broiler in Richland at Columbia Point. I’ve been here a few times and like stopping in when the week needs a little celebration. We landed in the lounge, which had a good energy — busy but not chaotic.

What I Ordered

  • Appetizer: Calamari
  • Main Entrée 1: 7oz sirloin
  • Side for Sirloin: Baked potato
  • Main Entrée 2: Meatloaf
  • Side for Meatloaf: Mashed potatoes

The Experience

The lounge felt lively without being loud. We were there on a busy Friday, but the service was great even though they were busy. Servers kept things moving and checked in at the right times. The place had a good vibe and the food is legit — casual, comfortable, and dependable.

What Stood Out

The standout for me was the flavor of the beef in both the sirloin and the meatloaf. The 7oz sirloin had a solid sear and a straightforward, beef-forward taste that cut through any heavy sauce. It stayed tender and was easy to enjoy with the baked potato — fluffy inside with a nice contrast from the skin.

The meatloaf leaned into classic flavors: a dense, meaty texture and a rich beef profile that felt familiar in a good way. The mashed potatoes were creamy and comforting, the kind that help the meatloaf shine. The calamari starter was crisp with a light coating, and it did a nice job getting the meal started without being heavy.

Small Notes and Tips

  • If you like people-watching and a livelier feel, ask for the lounge. It’s busier but more social on Friday nights.
  • The baked potato is a solid side — if you want it loaded, there’s room to make it your own.
  • Consider splitting the calamari as an appetizer to save room for the mains.

Would I Get It Again?

Yes. I’ve had both of these before and I’d get them again. Between the solid flavors, the delicous sides, and the great service even when busy, Budd’s Broiler is an easy go-to for some of the best steaks in the Tri-Cities on a Friday night out at Columbia Point.
